Bosco’s Bio

            Hello, my name is Peter Bosco Michne. The Bosco is a tag from the surfers when I was a kid. Don’t ask me why. I grew up on Eastern Long Island, the Hamptons to be exact, but the Hamptons weren’t exactly what they are now.  Farmers, fishermen and working people were the year round residents, (they still are) and the wealthy summered here. A few famous artists, (Pollack, deKooing), and writers (Capote) were here but the Hollywood Jet Set and millionaire businessmen hadn’t discovered (exploited) our home just yet.

            We surfed in the summer, skated in the winter and did all the other common rural small town stuff kids do or did.  My surfing friends became carpenters, landscapers, bankers and lawyers and I don’t know but I think they thought I was crazy trying to be a musician. Still we all respect each other and still surf here.

            I come from a musical family. My grandmother played piano in the movie houses, my great uncle played sax and violin and did gigs, my dad played guitar and sang gigs in the ‘50s and continued to sing until he passed on. My sister plays piano, my brother graduated Berklee and can play anything and everything, my wife plays guitar, sings & does gigs, my father in law plays great blues harp and does gigs, my son Gavin has a great voice and is learning drums. I even have Michne cousins I barely know who have a bluegrass band.  I have always sang and played guitar. I stared doing gigs in high school & loved it.       

            I firmly believe that anyone can learn from anyone else no matter what style or what level they’re at. I learn from my students everyday.
